ABC Radio - Federasi Otonomi

The Challenge

Radio Australia has a complex nature in terms of a design brief and one that naturally lends itself toward the small nuances of a  nation's culture rather than patronising it.

In the case of Federasi Otonomi the content was a detailed comparison of national references such as flags, anthems and critical historical paths to describe each nations' current political landscape. Other than the Indonesian news service, the Federasi website was the first educational theme-based piece to be presented in Indonesian and therefore was to be a benchmark content website for future projects. 

The Solution

Morpheum arrived at a graphic design solution that describes a subtle cross-section of Australian and Indonesian political iconology, intertwined with Australian turn of the century (Australian Federation) and contemporary treatment, together with the obvious geographical reference to the neighbouring countries.

The Federasi website was as much an educational exercise for Australians as it was for Indonesians, therefore it was of utmost importance that the site did not graphically favour either country.
