The Challenge
AGORA is a strategy that aligns local government department systems with the intent of commercialising their information. The AGORA group sought Morpheum's assistance in developing two websites for property and valuation data for a demonstrative environment.
The first website, a communication website was developed to inform and disseminate information relating to the concepts of AGORA. The second website was developed to provide a demonstrative website to motivate a customer's interaction with a potential licensed Customer Service Provider. The primary functions of the second website was to demonstrate the technical feasibility of dynamically aggregated data that had been collected on demand from council's back-end systems and to assist in demonstrating the commercial value associated with council's property and valuation data.
Both sites needed to possess a congruent aesthetic look and feel and evolve the AGORA identity.
The Solution
Morpheum approached the websites for the two very different end-uses in the following ways.
AGORA Home Website
The look and feel of the first website asserted a government/professional orientation and connected the existing online brand strategy already adopted by AGORA. The intention was to create a straightforward piece of information that could easily be digested and navigable with a conservative slant to the design. The structure of the information allowed AGORA to highlight visual links to their various commercial or 'product' endeavours without harming the integrity of the contents origin - that of government, through campaign based advertising.
AGORA Customer Service Provider Website
Wanting to incorporate a customer-focused orientation to the commercially based demo, Morpheum designed an interface that was product driven.
Five key user-based scenarios were implemented with highly functional outcomes. The process of extracting the subtle differences between the different pieces of information and interaction allowed Morpheum to flex their highly developed usability muscles when it came to laying out the information and understanding the nuances of content. We also developed the visual standards for each type of information displayed including those that crossed into the data simulation of the Growth Trend Analysis into scalable vector graphics (SVG).
