Coffs Harbour City Council

In order to deliver integrated online information and services to the community, Coffs Harbour City Council needed a partner that could provide strategic direction, information and creative design expertise, and a Content Management application that would enable decentralised participation in the management and delivery of content.

Setting the Direction

Coffs Harbour City Council needed a full review of their information and service delivery channels. A regrouping of their online efforts and a strategy that would provide business improvement to the Councils Internet site management and the communities ability to access online. 

The consulting process provided for review of all aspects of the Council business and relationships with services such as Library, Sports, Tourism, and various other brands and services. A series of recommendations where presented that would position the Council as a leader within the Local Government community.

Designing a new Interface

Through facilitated stakeholder participation, a new and dynamic information architecture and creative design was developed. The resulting Internet interface is engaging, attractive and extremely functional. Providing compliance with accessibility and usability standards, delivery interactive features such as Community Directories and, most importantly, a single interface for the delivery of Council information and services.

Building the Environment

Based on the agreed online strategy and the new interface design, the Morpheum development team undertook the implemented of Lantern Content Management System and the development and integration of custom capability to support the range of site facilities.

The project launched in June 2003 and in coming months (effective October 2003), Morpheum is undertaking the development of stand-alone sites for the Library, Coffs Events and reviewing the integration of internal systems including Dataworks and Civica.
