mck2

In one of the biggest corporate intranet projects to date, Morpheum partnered with Lantern CMS to deliver an intranet for pharmaceutical giant, McKesson Asia Pacific.

With offices across Australia and New Zealand, McKesson required a fully-functional intranet that was both easy for its content authors to edit as well as act as the best support mechanism for their many call centre staff.

Contract details

Date of engagement: 6 July 2007

Services provided: Stakeholder consultation, interface and creative design, functional and technical analysis, usability and accessibility testing, development and project management

Products supplied: Lantern CMS

Current status: Morpheum provides ongoing account management to McKesson and Lantern CMS maintenance and support

Requirements

McKesson had outgrown their existing intranet environment in terms of site structure, the ability to mange content online as well as the general look and feel of the site

The intranet was recognised as a central role in some of McKesson's key business processes including acting as a support mechanism for call centre staff.

At the top of the list, McKesson required a CMS that allowed hundreds of authors with no technical or HTML knowledge to quickly maintain content and provide a WYSIWYG environment.

As well as this, McKesson required a system that produced and managed their many forms with the ability also for staff to submit, for example, annual leave requests online.

Our solution

Morpheum installed the award-winning CMS solution Lantern which covered all of their product requirements.

McKesson staff working out of Australia, New Zealand and their own home could take advantage of the fact that Lantern is a web-based application and users simply require a login and password to access.

In terms of McKesson's requirements from a vendor point of view, Morpheum met all of McKesson's needs over and above what was required.

The project implementation provided end-to-end consultation, design and development that resulted in the successful migration of content from the current McKesson intranet to the new intranet in time for launch in December 2007.

Thorough and effective training was also performed by Morpheum trainers who are proficient in the use of Lantern and also provided comprehensive training manuals for staff.

McKesson also required a maintenance and support contract which ensured the long-term life of their purchase and continuing best practice capability. The Morpheum Maintenance Support Agreement (MSA) guaranteed availability to future updates for the Lantern CMS foundation and to online and phone support services.
